We Have the Power:

Thriving in a Post COVID world

Creativity and Finding Balance in a Post-COVID World

The COVID 19 pandemic back in early 2020’s has forever changed the way we work. What was once a luxury for some working from home is now a necessity for many.

As creatives, we have long enjoyed the flexibility of remote work, thanks to advancements in communication technology and shifting attitudes toward work culture. But the current reality is different. For the first time, millions are working from home not by choice but by circumstance.

As someone who has spent 30 years in the creative industry, I have seen firsthand how working from home can be both liberating and challenging. On one hand, it eliminates distractions and allows for deep focus. On the other, it can feel isolating, stripping away the external stimuli that often spark creativity.

The Challenge of Staying Inspired

Creatives thrive on inspiration. For me, that means sights, sounds, and experiences outside the ordinary. But when your workspace is also your living space, it is easy to lose that spark. The commute disappears, along with the chance encounters, observations, and moments of reflection that come with it.

So, how do we stay motivated and stimulated? Here are a few strategies that work for me:

  1. Create a Dedicated Workspace
Having a studio separate from my home helps me maintain a clear boundary between work and personal life. It is about setting up an environment that fosters creativity and focus.
  2. Regular Exercise Breaks
Physical activity is a creative lifeline. It reenergizes the mind and keeps the ideas flowing. When working from home, it is easy to skip this, but it should be factored into your daily routine.
  3. Music as a Creative Stimulus
Music is more than background noise for me. It is a source of inspiration. I make it a point to listen to music while working and even take short breaks to play my guitar.
  4. Online Research and Collaboration
Staying connected with the creative community even virtually is crucial. Regular online research keeps me inspired, while tools like Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams make collaboration seamless.

The Power of Collaboration

One of the highlights of my career has been building and working with Konstructive’s talented team. Face to face interactions even virtual ones are a rich source of inspiration. They foster a sense of security that makes it easier to share ideas and collaborate effectively.

This collaborative spirit extends to our client partnerships. By listening to their needs, helping them navigate challenges, and empowering them to achieve their goals, we create work that is not just meaningful but also impactful.

Finding Balance in a Post COVID World

Working from home can be productive, but it requires a careful balance. Regular interaction with colleagues and clients, combined with a structured routine, keeps the creative mind sharp. It is about being intentional with how we work.

The pandemic has shown us that we have the power to adapt. Now, it is up to us to use that power wisely. By embracing the flexibility of remote work while staying connected and inspired, we can not only survive but thrive in this new normal.
